A04 – Cladding for graded hybrid parts

In the A04 subproject hybrid components with a metallurgical bonding by deposition welding are produced. Multilayer systems featuring differing coefficients of expansion in the coating materials are investigated in order to introduce technically usable residual stresses to increase service life. Processing strategies for the application of difficult-to-weld bearing steels are to be developed. By means of a multi-material conveyor the local deposition of homogeneous alloys and flawless layers shall be realized based on a flexible mixing of easily available base materials.
